Father of Peace

 Michael B. Lynch

Father of Peace, Father of Love.
Come see our joy now, praising Your Word.
Father of Life, Father of all,
Father of ev'rything that's good. We come to Your call.

Father we pray, day after day. Help us to see you,
Show us Your Way. Father of Care, guiding us all,
Fill us with ev'rything that's good. We come to Your call.

Dear God

Refrain:
Open our eyes to see You. Open our ears to hear You.
Open our lips to tell You. Open our hearts to love You.
Open ourselves to be You, Dear God.

We walk up the way. We run down the road.
We plunge to the side. And turn 'round the curve.
We feel You today in the sway of a leaf.
In the flap of a wing. In the waves beating reef.

We see You today in the children's smiles
We see You so real in the glow of their eyes
We see You too in the face of the youth
In the hope of their strife. In their quest for the truth.

Come to the Water

 John Foley, S.J

O let all who thirst, let them come to the water.
And let all who have nothing, let them come to the Lord:
without money, without price.
Why should you pay the price, except for the Lord?

And let all who seek, let them come to the water.
And let all who have nothing, let them come to the Lord:
without money, without strife.
Why should you spend your life, except for the Lord?

City of God

 Dan Schutte, S.J

Awake from your slumber! Arise from your sleep!
A new day is dawning for all those who weep.
The people in darkness have seen a great light.
The Lord of our longing has conquered the night.

Refrain
Let us build the city of God. May our tears be turned into dancing!
For the Lord, our Light and our Love,
has turned the night into day.

We are sons of the morning; we are daughters of day.
The One who has loved us has brightened our way.
The Lord of all kindness has called us to be a light for
His people to set their hearts free.

God is Light; in Him there is no darkness.
Let us walk in His light, His children, one and all.
O comfort My people; make gentle your words.
Proclaim to My city the day of her birth.

O city of gladness, now lift up your voice!
Proclaim the good tidings that all may rejoice!

Be like the Sun

 B. Fabing S.J

Sing a song of praise to God and let your voice arise.
Sing a song of praise to God and let it be heard on high.
Be like the sun and shine on ev'ry one.
Sing a song of praise to God and let your voice arise

What can I give back to him for all He's given me.
I will take his cup of love and praise Him joyfully.
Be like the sun and shine on ev'ry one.
What can I give back to Him for all He's give me?

If you want to give to Me then give to one of these.
I, your Lord, have love you so blest are those who follow.
Be like the sun and shine on ev'ry one.
If you want to give Me then give to one on these.

Be Glad, O People

 Gregory Norbet, OSB

Refrain:
Be glad, o people of the earth!
Lift up your heart with song and dance,
for I am with you, yes within you, forever!
You are the heart of My heart.

I will never forget you, O my people;
on the day of anguish I will answer you.
As you join in celebration,
My joy will move among you. Refrain.

You shall find a land to be your home, where sheep
and cattle may freely roam, mountains from which
springs shall flow with living waters. Refrain.

I will your faith burn brightly
So that others may find life's fullness:
Freedom for all captives
And justice for all nations. Refrain

No longer will the circle of your life,
It's pain and goodness
Be just for yourself:
Your gift to share will flower. Refrain

As you work for others' freedom,
With a seed of hope within you,
Hunger shall not harm you,
Nor thirst withdraw your courage. Refrain.
