That Last Supper

That last evening spent together
Just bread and wine was their supper
Thanking God that time, He said,
As He blest and broke the bread
“Take and eat my flesh I give to you.”

Then after quite some time
He blest the chalice of wine
Giving thanks to God again
He thus spoke and said to them:
“Take and drink my blood I give to you.”

His body and His blood here, He freely chose to give.
That all men would remember Him and they would believe
A covenant He’s made here forever more since then
That those who would believe in Him
Someday shall live again

Each time I think and remember
That last evening spent together
Sometimes I feel I was there
Once disciple who did share
That last supper with my Lord and God.

His body and His blood here, He freely chose to give.
That all men would remember Him and they would believe
A covenant He’s made here forever more since then
That those who would believe in Him
Someday shall live again

Each time I think and remember
That last evening spent together
Sometimes I feel I was there
Once disciple who did share
That last supper with my Lord and God.
